Safety Committee
We make the safety of our residents a top priority.
The WBNA Safety Committee is dedicated to increasing personal safety and decreasing crime in West Bucktown. We believe that by working together, we can create a visible, united front of families, friends and neighbors who are committed to keeping our neighborhood safe for all to enjoy.
In 2010, the Safety Committee took several important steps toward heightened general security in West Bucktown, including establishing block-by-block safety phone trees throughout much of the neighborhood, and strengthening relationships with the 1st Ward, CAPS (Community Alternative Policing Strategy) and the 14th District Police Department.
We've made tremendous progress, but there is still much work to be done. We're always looking for a few good block captains, CAPS liaisons, crusaders and guardian angels to join our team! If you're looking to get involved, or would like to join a safety tree, email us at safety@westbucktown.org.
