Environmental Committee
We are committed to going green.
The mission of the WBNA Environmental Committee is to foster a sense of “green pride” and collective ownership in the beautification of West Bucktown, while encouraging recreational and responsible use of all area parks and outdoor spaces.
And we’ve been busy! In the past year alone, we organized several neighborhood clean-ups ("Clean & Greens"), helped with park planting and maintenance efforts, partnered with our friends at the Maplewood and Lucy Flower Parks Advisory Council to officially launch the Lucy Flower Garden Club, and sponsored the very first West Bucktown Summer Kickball League.
Going forward, we will continue to advocate on behalf of these and other green initiatives, including development of the Bloomingdale Trail, parkway tree plantings, the installation of an organic children's garden at Lucy Flower Park, and the establishment of a West Bucktown Garden Walk and West Bucktown Community Garden.
